Another photo form old iranian houses
This is part of wall and part of celling of a house located in Kashan (Iran)
these houses used to belong to famous politician of their time and also rich traders.
the paintings on the wall most of the time reflects the beliefs, way of life and the countries and cultures they used to work with.
The opening on the celling works as vents. Note that this type of totally open vents are only seen in the places are meant to use during summer time and hot regions.
The design of the buildings was for free and controlled follow of the air inside resulting very comforting temperature during even hot summer noons.
